The building of High Baroque in the style of an Italian villa was constructed at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries and is a true gem of Moravian architecture. Buchlovice Chateau is a fine example of Baroque art, incorporating all disciplines – architecture, sculpture, painting, decorative arts, as well as garden and water design.
An Italian terraced garden, accessible directly from the ground floor of the chateau, is followed by an English-style park featuring many rare exotic trees and shrubs. In the castle’s greenhouses, over 1,200 species and varieties of fuchsias are cultivated and can be admired during unique exhibitions held annually from early June to September.
